Celebrating its third year of scholarship awards, the Buck Young Scholarship offers Polson High School seniors and alumnae a chance at a scholarship that rewards academics and sports.
Buck was passionate about helping kids and spent countless hours coaching many sports for both boys and girls most of his life. He appreciated the value of scholarships since he attended a college his family would not have been able to afford, if not for the full ride scholarship he received.
The Polson High School Basketball program continues to honor Buck with an annual basketball game scholarship night that raises several hundred dollars to add to the original endowment. Contributions to the scholarship fund can be made at any time through the GPCF.
This year, each of the five applicants will receive a scholarship award which can be used toward any of their college expenses. Awardees are: Marlee Congdon, Riley Kenney, Erin Sampson, Mollie Lemm and Tessa Nunlist.
