George Barce grew up near Rollins, Montana and graduated from Flathead High School. He earned a B.S. in Wildlife/Forestry from the University of Alaska and the University of Montana, and a masters degree from the University of Montana, Washington State (WSU), the University of Idaho and Colorado State (CSU).
George has worked for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the United States Forest Service and the Bureau of Indian Affairs for 30 years, and lived in many places across the country. He began working for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes in 1995, and is still there, as a wildlife biologist.
